We Want More Snow

Ben got up early to go hunting again. A couple hours later I hear Taylor's little voice asking if she can come lay with me. She grabs her "soft blanky" and snuggles into bed.
When I got up I was hoping I would find we had more snow. Our little bit of snow seems to be slowly melting away. It is so pretty to me and I hope we get more soon.

More Deerless Hunting

When Ben and I were first married I enjoyed getting up early, sipping hot cider, getting all bundled up and driving through the woods looking for deer in our little Toyota. We don't get up quite as early, but we did spend the entire day driving to different areas to look for deer. I packed us a little "picnic" with summer sausage, salami, crackers, cheeses, pretzels, pickles, olives and chips so we could have little snacks along our journey. We were expecting snow. Taylor was thrilled when it finally came...
Some higher elevations already had a little snow on the ground so we stopped to play in it for a little while. It was very cold, but Taylor didn't mind a bit, as she proudly holds up her "snow ball."
It was a little later in the afternoon before the fresh snow began to fall. Taylor tried to catch some on her tongue...
She ran around and danced in the snow as it fell...
She can't wait to have enough to really play in...maybe we can make a snowman this year. At the end of the day, we had only seen one deer on the side of the highway as we were heading out of town, but we did see seven elk. Too bad they are not in season.

In the Toy Box

Taylor was in her toy box with all of her toys playing. Of course, I wanted to take a picture, but when she saw the camera she didn't want to sit back down. Eventually, after much pleading, she allowed me to take a few pictures...
I said, come on Taylor you won't fit in there forever...please let me get a picture. I put all the toys back in the box with her, then she thought it was just fun again and picked up a little book to read in her cozy little spot.

4-Wheeler Ride in the Neighborhood

Taylor misses camping and asks when we will get to go again. One evening daddy was unloading his 4-wheeler and she wanted a ride. After he got it out of the truck, as Taylor yelled from the house, "Daddy, daddy, wait for me," he took her for a little ride around the block.
It was a little cold, but she thought it was great fun!

My Little Artist

My enthusiastic painter had a little paint on her face, so I had to capture the momment along with one of her first masterpieces.
Eventually we started a new picture. Taylor prefers to run around the house in just panties these days. I'm glad she is willing to wear this cute little apron so I could take a picture.

Jump-A-Lot is Back

Over the summer we spent much of our time outdoors. It wasn't until September when I realized our favorite jumping place was no longer open. Ownership changed and we are happy they are back in business. It is a great way to spend an hour. The girls love it!
Anissa and Taylor sliding down after, of course, climbing up the bouncer which ended up being a favorite.
Taylor, Anissa and Makenna play games where someone needs help and they run to rescue each other. Taylor and Anissa are at the top of the slide, cheering Makenna on, or helping her, as she slides down, backwards, on her tummy to her mommy (Lorinda) waiting below.
We are so happy they are open in time for the cool weather!

28?

About a month ago, Taylor and I were talking about age. Probably because it was right around her birthday. I told her Matt is older than her. She said no, that she is older. I said no, Matt is 22...how old are you? Hoping she would remember she just turned three. She said, "23." I said, "oh really, than how old am I." She said, "28." And daddy? She said, "28." Okay, so we're 28...I'm okay with that.

This evening, Taylor wanted her daddy and I to go with her to the potty. Her daddy asked if she could wipe her own hiney. She said no, mommy does it. He asked when she would be old enough to do it herself. She said, "28." Don't worry. We will work on this. I am very sure she will have this skill down prior to turning 28.

Deer?

Well, we didn't see any deer all day...
But the tamarack have changed and I think that is so pretty...
We stopped a few times to run around. Taylor took that literally, of course. I had my timer set on my camera, to try to get us all in a picture, and Taylor walked away....Taylor, come back...I did get a few pictures...
Daddy let Taylor drive...
It was a beautiful day...but we didn't see any deer.
