Ironman 2009

Ironman was on Fathers Day this year. Ben, Taylor and I got up early to watch the mass start of the race. It is amazing to see as everyone runs to the water to begin swimming. Afterwards, we walked downtown for some coffee from my favorite place..Java on Sherman.

After another Walk

I enjoyed walking so much, Taylor and I met some other moms of another walking group the next morning. We met at the park by the falls. Taylor rides along so nicely with her little snacks in her stroller, so I let her have fun at the park afterwards...
She saved some of her sandwich for the ducks...
The falls were pretty too...

Walking Group

Taylor went down the slide by herself the first time. She must have thought it was a little too fast, as she wanted help going down afterwards, so Lorinda, Makenna, and Anissa kept her company...
With our play group, we started walking for exercise. We meet, walk for about an hour at a nice quick pace (with the kids in strollers), then stop at the park to play. Here we are Lorinda, with Makenna and Anissa and me with Taylor.

Happy 22nd Birthday Matt!

Matt turned 22 on the 17th of June! To celebrate, we always have a mint chip ice cream cake. Taylor was very excited about this. Matt wanted lamb with mint sauce for dinner, so Ben made that happen. Matt has been busy making improvements on his house, so we helped by contributing to some of the cost to add stairs to his deck in his backyard. I am so proud of him! We love you Matt! And I have to say...he is so handsome...even when he does not smile for pictures for me.

Michael's Graduation Party

Michael and Terra had a wonderful BBQ at their house to celebrate Michael's graduation from EWU. We had a great time visiting with everyone! Of course, at the end of the day, I had pictures of Taylor. Above she is pushing Grant on the swing. Grant is three months older than Taylor and she can barely reach to push, so I thought this was very cute.
I was impressed that she knew just what to do with this drill. I do wish I would have gotten more pictures, but maybe that means I was too busy actually visiting to take them. It was a fun party...congratulations Michael!

Feeding the Horses with Grandpa

Taylor loves to feed the horses at grandma and grandpa's house. I followed along, so I could take pictures of her and grandpa with the horses. Notice that each of her carrots have little bites taken out of them....hummm. Sometimes when her and I are at the store, she will want to buy carrots for them. She says, "We need to get some carrots for Pepsi."
As we were heading towards the horses, she suddenly stopped and picked some clover. This is something she learned on one of her little walks with grandma. Grandpa had some too and made sure she ate the right part. Taylor just wanted to take a bite.
Trinity comes running as he sees grandpa and Taylor approaching with more snacks. I think this was their second trip down with carrots this afternoon. Taylor loves to feed them. Taylor is very brave. Grandpa has taught her how to greet, feed and pet the horses...
Now she's petting Buddy...
She is very good with them...

Mommy's Little Helper

Taylor loves to help. She often says, "I can do it." She will push the step stool around the kitchen so she can reach. I let her help pound the chicken. While she was helping, I said Taylor smile for me...
Very nice!

Camping Continued

We went on a couple of nice 4-wheeler rides with everyone while we were camping. Taylor still likes to nap sometimes while riding.
We rode up and found some snow...

Some of the trails were steep, but it was very pretty. I have not riden very much, so it was comforting watching everyone else in front of us ride along without any problems.
Taylor likes the ride, but she really enjoyed the little dogs she would follow around when we would stop.
Taylor is holding her ears during a break for some target practice...

And having a snack...
And showing me how she can wink so I can take a picture...she is very good at winking...

Taylor with little Samantha. She just loved this little dog...
Taylor loved camping! This was the last picture as Ben was getting us packed up. She didn't really want to leave...

Our First Camping Trip 2009

Taylor was very excited to go camping. She played in the trailer as I cleaned and loaded up all our supplies. She will not always fit in the closet, but for now it is fun. She was so anxious, at one point she just sat down on the stair, exasperated, she said, "I just want to go camping."
She was thrilled to finally arrive at our destination. One of the reasons is because she knew I brought her bubbles.
Bubbles are a good way to make friends too. Here she is playing with Terrin and little Brody...
There was a swing set on the property. Ben and I spent a lot of time pushing her...
Little Brody brought lots of fun toys too...
Now Taylor will just sit right down in the dirt and play. Not too long ago, she would squat above it so she would not get dirty, but I think those days are over. I'm so thankful I have a trailer so I can give her a nice bath before bed.

Fun with Cousins

My cousin Lorinda and I have been having fun taking our girls out. We go to lunch, to play group, to the park, to Silverwood...
They are so cute holding hands at Silverwood, looking for their next ride...
I am so glad we got season passes. We can go often and do not feel so bad when we need to leave early because a couple of them get too tired to stay very long. They are great little friends!
