Play Group at the Park

Last weekend we also went over to the Gordon's for the race and BBQ. Taylor got to play on Kyler's new playground. Ben was surprised at all she was able to do. He doesn't make it to the park with us much...and he clearly hasn't been reading my blog or he would have seen pictures of how able she has become to climb all over.
This is a great park, but it's so big we run around a lot keeping an eye on our children so the mom's don't get to visit much...but the kids have fun!
We packed a lunch, and a bucket for sand...
I like to get Taylor over to the toddler side of the park where it's easier to watch her. She looks so much bigger on the slide...
I love her little piggy tails blowing in the breeze of the swing...

Day Trip up the River

I packed a picnic, Taylor grabbed a friend (froggy) and we headed up the river.
The water was very cold and moving fast. We watched Taylor carefully as she enjoyed throwing rocks into the river.
Ben had friends that were camping in this area. It was a large group and I think five dogs. Taylor enjoys the dogs. She also enjoyed running around...
It was a beautiful day! It was nice to get out and enjoy it. It was a little stressful for me since I had the fear of the dogs knocking her over or her slipping into the water as she was throwing rocks.
This brown lab kept trying to catch the rocks she was throwing...
She was very excited when she could throw the rock far enough to hit the water...
Along with several games, they had a trampoline set up...
I didn't realize how long we were staying, so eventually I pulled out the sun screen and a hat for Taylor...
There were lots of other children too...
It was a nice day...and a great private camp site set up with power for the trailers and a view of the river.

A Day Trip to Canada

We decided to start our Memorial Day weekend with a quick trip to Canada. We stopped by Fort Steele. It's a cute little historical town. Unfortunately, it appeared to be closed. Ben and I had stopped by here eleven years ago on our honeymoon. We thought it would be a nice place to take Taylor for a walk. The views are pretty...We drove through Cranbrook, which wasn't too exciting, so we headed over to Kimberly. They have a little "Bavarian" area, so we let Taylor walk around here instead...
We packed for it, but decided not to stay anywhere. Instead, we picked up a pizza in Sandpoint and headed home. It's nice it's so close that we can just go for a nice drive for the day.

Yes, I do still have a slide in my Living Room...

....and it is still fun!

Happy Birthday Ben (Daddy)!

Taylor was so excited for her daddy's birthday. She picked out a musical card and could hardly wait to give it to him when he came home for work. She took turns pretending it was her birthday and her daddy's birthday so they could both open the card.
Matt, grandma and grandpa came over for dinner. Of course, Taylor and grandma went out for a walk. They also found a baby robin in a nest in our tree in the backyard.

In the past, Ben and I have not been too big on celebrating our birthdays too much, but it's always a good excuse for a wonderful steak dinner. Taylor sure likes the party, so I think we may be celebrating a little more in the future. Happy Birthday Ben! We love you!

Is it summer yet...indoor beach party at play group

This was a fun day at play group! The kids dressed in swimwear, there was a plastic pool, lots of beach balls, bubbles, a bouncer and plenty of leis for everyone.
Makenna, Anissa, and Taylor enjoying the pool.
It was a nice day, so we continued the party outside!

Winter or Spring

Taylor was pretending she was playing at the beach in our living room so she wanted to put on her bathing suit. Later she added the hat and scarf. Is this a statement about how much our weather changes or does daddy have the air conditioning set too cold? I think she just likes to dress up.

10acres on Mothers Day 2008 and 2009

Above is how the property looked a week ago. I loved walking through it. I think the truck is parked in the same place. This is why I am so happy to see how green things have become in 2009 Mothers Day versus 2008...

This is just after Ben cleaned it up in 2008. It's a great place to visit...I hope we get to live there someday soon.

Imagination at Work

We stopped by Matt's today to see all the work he has been doing at his house. While we visited with Matt, Taylor was playing with his guitar (which she occasionally referred to as a piano).
I love to watch Taylor play! She makes up songs and dances around.Above Taylor has a little make-up brush and is putting "make-up" on her puppy. Below, she is rubbing a pretend chicken leg on her daddy's head... I'm glad she washed his hair when she was all done....
Nice and clean...good job Taylor!

Using our Season Pass

My favorite ride with Taylor is the log ride, but I think Taylor liked the little ferris wheel.
Daddy went golfing, so Taylor and I went to Silverwood again. We rode the Tiny Toot Roller Coaster at least four times. Taylor said, "Raise your hands guys."
We also found something for Taylor to ride all by herself. She may have gotten off and on this little Kiddy Wheel seven times...
I am impressed with how comfortable and brave she has become!

Safety Scissors

Who knew they could be so much fun? Not me, but I'm glad they are!

Mothers Day

I had a nice mothers day! Ben started my day with one of my favorite coffees and breakfast...and a cute card from Taylor. Matt took Taylor and me out to breakfast on Monday. Later, we headed over to grandma and grandpas. Taylor, Grandma, and I walked up the hill to meet everyone for a picnic. Well, I actually carried Taylor most of the way, but I thought that should be good for exercise, so that's okay. We cut through our property (which is pretty steep in some areas) and then caught a ride with everyone as they caught up with us. I was so happy to see the property so green. It was kind of muddy for a while, so this was a great relief for me.
Matt rode his dirt bike up. Here are my kids on Mothers Day. I just want a picture. I get to stay home with Taylor, so I feel like I get what I want everyday.
Taylor liked hanging out with Maddix. I love that she is not actually sitting on the ground, but squatting next to him. It may be awful, but that is totally something I would do...trying not to get dirty.
We had a nice little fire and lunch. Taylor loved the strawberries and ginger cookies...
I wanted a picture with my kids. Ben took it. He said I needed to stop talking, or my pictuers would keep looking like this...
This is just funny to me. He could warn me that he is taking the picture...
Tamira, Maddix, Grandma, Taylor and I walked down the mountain. Taylor had a little stick which she pretended was a gun...
Here's my boy on his bike...
Then we (Ben) loaded up the 4-wheeler. It was a nice day!
