Ahhh...remember the sun...

This is the face Taylor makes when she is saying, "put your camera away and catch me." She wants me to catch her at the end of the slide and she doesn't think I can do it with my camera in my hand....
Remember those two sunny days last week. Well, on one of them I walked Taylor around the boardwalk and we watched boats and airplanes...
We also found the only Mudgy and Millie statue we had not seen yet...
I love the clear blue skies and the lake so close by. She is reaching for the sun...

Bear Hunting with Daddy

We call it hunting, but for me and Taylor, it's actually just a nice scenic drive in the woods. Taylor fell asleep within the first ten minutes.
We did not see any bears, but we saw several deer...

A New Seat for Taylor

I brought this little white step stool upstairs so I could clean and reach the top of my cabinets. I pushed it over by the table to get it out of the way. Taylor thought it was great! I tied a little belt across the back to make a back rest, so I wouldn't be worried about her falling through. She loves that she can push it around and reach things so she can help her mom...she is very helpful!

BBQ Saturday

We spent another Saturday at Brad, Melody, and Kyler's smoking pork shoulder and ribs. It's always a lot of fun. Kyler is almost 2 1/2 years older than Taylor, but he plays so nicely with her! Taylor is becoming braver each time. She now jumps on the trampoline and even let Kyler take her on a little jeep ride, before she got scared and decided she had enough.

A Walk Downtown

Each morning, Taylor gets ready for the day with me. After playgroup last week, we went downtown for a nice walk.
We walked and found three of the Mudgy and Millie's around town.
This was Taylor's first time to play on the "big kid" side of the playground at Fort Sherman.
She is still wearing her band-aide. It made for good conversation with the other children. One little girl said, "Oh, I like your band-aide! What happened?" Taylor responded, "The naughty kitty hurt my face." The little girl replied, "Maybe it should go to jail." Other concerned children would ask me, "What happened to her?" The band-aide has always been more for entertainment than need in Taylor's situation.
And, here's the sleeping Mudgy in the park....just perfect for climbing...

A New Look

I noticed today, it has been one year since I started documenting just about everything you need to know about Taylor, and the rest of my family. I decided to try a different look for my blog.

Speaking of new looks....Yesterday, Taylor put on her hat and vest and said, "I'm going on a hunting Safari with Erin." Erin is my friend with whom I go spinning. Taylor knows this, so when I go exercise, she asks, "You go exercise with your friend Erin?" Now she is going to have some "pretend" time with Erin as they go on Safari. Erin is so much fun...even when she is not here.

Play Date with Anissa and Makenna

We have missed seeing Anissa and Makenna lately. We have been taking turns with colds, so we have been staying away from each other, trying not to spread the germs. The girls had fun playing together. They even got to go outside and swing and slide a little. They had lunch at the little table together. Even Makenna, who seems like she has gotten so much older lately.
Taylor is proudly sporting a "Hello Kitty" band-aide. When her daddy asked her what happened she said, "the kitty hurt my face." To which her daddy replied, "that's why daddy doesn't like kitties." Taylor responded, "But you like puppies." Yes, daddy likes puppies.

A Day at the Park

We had a little snow fall today, but last week we had a few sunny days. On one of those days we met Grandma for a walk around the park. Taylor was a little scared at first and she called for Grandma, who gladly joined her on the slide.
While we were walking we found Kyler and his mom, Melody. Taylor was thrilled! She says "Kyler loves me." He also helped her to be brave in going down the slides....thanks Kyler.

After the swings, I told Taylor she could go down the slide a few more times and then we had to go home. She didn't want to go home. She said, "I want to tell you bye-bye." Then she started walking back to the park...
I ended up carrying an unhappy little girl back to the car. I'm sure the sun will shine again, and we will make it back to the park.

Happy Easter!

Yes, we do have a slide in our living room...don't you?
I love this picture as Taylor carries all she can back to her little basket which was full.
Hunting for Easter eggs was lots of fun!
She finally opened her doll house and was thrilled to have it.
Thank you Grandma Judy...Taylor loves her treats!
Matt came over after church for a nice lunch. Happy Easter!

Upgrading

Her daddy got Taylor a new bat so she could stop using the left over piece of shelving to hit the ball.
I do think this is a safer choice for baseball in the house.
Speaking of upgrading. Taylor loves to slide and has been making a slide out of everything she could think of in the house. This lastest creation required daddy to hold the foam board on top of the couch cushions so Taylor could slide down. Friday night I made the drive to the Toys R Us in the Valley and was thrilled to pick up the last Step 2 slide they had on sale.
When Taylor woke up the next morning, she was thrilled too!

Time for Work...Time to Sleep

Ben worked some different shifts this week, so Taylor got to see him off in the morning. After she kissed her daddy good-bye, she waved out the front window until he drove away, watching him wave too. She put her little shoes on and said, "I'm going to work now. I need a kiss. I have my work pants on." Then, she headed downstairs to play with her kitchen.
While I was making dinner she started asking for a bath. I know that's code for I want to go to sleep, but it was too early. Ben let her watch one of her favorite shows, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! A few minutes later, she was out for the night. She must have had a hard day at work.

Yes, Fresh Snow...April 2nd

Taylor and I went for a little walk in the snow today. I took her to mail Grandma Judy's birthday card and she wanted to keep walking. She was very excited to carry the card and put it in the mail box all by herself (sorry it will probably be a little late mom). We saw bird tracks in the snow and she would call, "come here little birdie." She did not want to go back in the house. She is ready for the weather to warm up so she can get outside and play.
