Tut Tut, Looks Like Rain

Oh yes, rain indeed. It was raining so Taylor walked around the house all day with her umbrella. She had difficulties maneuvering through some door ways, but did manage to get through. Turns out umbrellas are GREAT entertainment!
Yesterday it was raining again, so I let Taylor take her umbrella out with us. She was thrilled! She insisted upon walking so she could carry her umbrella through the parking lot and into the grocery store. She walked along proudly with her little umbrella throughout the store. She would raise it occasionally and say "boo" to other customers. She looked like a little mushroom walking around. She stayed close to me so she could continuing walking. She was easy to see. When she decided to ride in the cart, it was important to continue to use the umbrella. She is so much fun! I just love her!

Daddy's are Fun

I love to watch how sweet Taylor is with her daddy. He's pretty sweet too.The other day I banged my elbow. Taylor ran and got her doctor kit and then presented me with the band-aid bracelet. When using her stethoscope, part of the fun is looking for her heart. She starts on her head and says, "Is that my heart? No." Then her knee, "Is that my heart? No." Until she goes to her chest, "Is that my heart? Yes, there it is."

Out for Ice Cream

Last week after play group I took Taylor for a little walk. She jumped in every puddle she could find and wanted to walk in every pile of snow. I'm not hating the snow or the cold, but it might be nice to go to a playground again at the park.

Playhouse Disney

Ben and I got tickets to Playhouse Disney Live. Taylor watches all the shows so we thought she might enjoy it. This will be as close as we get to Mickey Mouse for a little while. Before the show, we did a little shopping and took Taylor to Red Robin for lunch. She always likes to get a balloon and they always have them.
We went for a little walk before the show started.
Taylor liked having her own seat. She is actually doing a little dance here...
During intermission she had a little snack (I'm always prepared with Taylor snacks).
She liked the show and knew songs and all the characters. She danced and participated. She was a little concerned that Daisy and Pluto were not there. Ben said maybe Daisy is sick. As we were walking back to our car we asked Taylor if she liked the show. She said, "yes." We asked what was her favorite. She said, "Daisy is sick." I said maybe she isn't sick and she was just out for a walk with Pluto. At the end of the long day she laid on the couch with her balloon...she really likes balloons.

Stay Home Days

Sometimes we have stay home days. Days we just stay and play and have no reason to leave the house. So, we might paint our nails...
Taylor loves to care for her toys...
And play with her train...
She likes to sit in the middle of our latest track configuration...
Hey...there is no train track in her shirt...
Just good times. We can always find new ways to play. Oh, here is that train...

Taylor Sings Mama Mia

Grandma took Taylor and me to see Mama Mia (the musical) last year for my birthday. It was wonderful! On Sunday, after Isabelle's shower, we went to Grandma's house. The girls were watching Mama Mia (the movie) while we were visiting. Taylor was not watching the movie, but she picks things up and repeats them. She was singing this song around the house last night..."Mama Mia, Mama Mia, here we go again."

A Valentine's Day Cookie

At play group this week Taylor got to decorate a Valentine's Day cookie, which was pretty fun. She also enjoyed her, "grapity-grape juice."
She was a little more excited to get some balloons to take home. Once she got these balloons she made sure she did not let them go.

A Party for Isabelle

We had a baby shower for Sara and little Isabelle on Sunday. It's always fun to visit when everyone gets together. I wish I could visit more, but I find myself always distracted as I am watching Taylor play. I only had my camera phone with me, but I thought this was such a cute picture of Taylor and Grant looking out the window at a dog.

A Bruise is a "Blues"

Yesterday, Taylor hit her head on a chair while being silly. I get ice for her to hold on her injuries, she likes it and it's a distraction. I have a little ice pack that Matt used when he was little that is shaped like a blue M&M.

Today she was playing with her daddy and threw something that hit him in the head. After she said, "sorry daddy," she said..."Did you get a blues on your head? You need an M&M...don't worry Daddy, you'll be okay."

Flashback...Preserving Memories in my Blog

A few weeks ago I scanned some old photos into my computer. I had the idea to compare pictures of me and Ben to Taylor. While searching through old albums, I got a little distracted with my original plan. It was just fun to see all the OLD pictures, so here are a few...I liked this picture of my mom. This is 1973, I think Spring, so I would be almost 3years, but it's California, so who knows. We are at Knott's Berry Farm...Here is a really old one of my mom. I'm guessing she is 5 or 6...And this is my mom (Judy) and her sister (Aunt Susie)...Taylor at around 1 1/2, Easter 2007...
Michelle around a year...Ben around a year...1976I think this is 1979, Ben and I are wearing the same kind of shorts. This is one of Ben's favorites of him...And this is Michelle (9) and Chris (4)...1980...Ben around 5years...Taylor 18months...Michelle in 1971, around 1year...
Michelle around a year or so...these photos were not dated...Taylor 18months...Ben (8) and Karianne (3) in 1983. When Taylor saw this picture she said, "it's Kimberly." I said, "no, that's Kimberly's mommy."
Michelle (8) and brother Chris (2yrs 10months) on Halloween 1978. Could someone have helped me with those red knee high socks? They probably did not need to be sticking out above the boots. I don't think that is how Wonder Woman did it...Ben (8) 1983...heading up to feed some chickens...Here are some favorites of Matt and me...1992...Michelle (22) and Matt (5)
2008...Taylor 2years 4months
2007...Taylor 1year 4months
2006...Taylor at 4months

Braiding Hair

I was so happy today when Taylor sat still enough and allowed me to french braid her hair.
She even liked it enough to leave it in her hair.
