A Conversation with Taylor

Tonight when Ben came home from work, Taylor noticed he had a scratch on his arm, by his elbow. She said, "What happened?" He said, "I just got a scratch. See, here is another one. Daddy gets scratches at work." She reached over and patted his head and said, "Oh, daddy, you need to be tareful." He said, "Okay, I will try." She said, "Remember, when I am tall...I will go to work with you, so I can help you, so you won't get scratches." He said, "Oh, thanks sweetie."
These pictures were taken September 25, 2007...Taylor was almost one year old...

My little Ballerina

I get these little crafty urges now and then. A lot of times I will crochet a new hat for Taylor. This time I had Halloween in mind. I wanted to make her something with a little ballerina skirt. So, we think she may be a butterfly. We have wings, but I'm super excited with this little skirt I made.
I got her to pose for me, so I could post some pictures...
I think it is so cute and will look great in pictures too...
Now, I need to find her some dance lessons...I think she will love it!
This may be a new gift idea for Christmas...or baby showers...anyone having a baby?

Although she looks adorable! Taylor has been in a less is more phase, where she cannot wait to get her clothes off right now. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the skirt.

Rainy Day

Rainy days are fun when you can carry a lady bug umbrella and splash in puddles with Hello Kitty rain boots. Just try not to kick the puddles...if your boot flies off, you may get your sock wet. Yes, that is what Taylor found out.

Another fun day at Silverwood

When the weather is hot, we have been spending our days at Boulder Beach. However, on Monday, we decided to ride the airplane for the first time. She tried and tried, but could not pull that handle back far enough to make the airplane fly. If you look closely at this picture, the expression is funny, as you can see her pulling on that handle. She rode it twice by herself, before we asked a nice, older girl if Taylor could ride with her so she could fly too.
We went to Boulder Beach as well...
It is fun to jump in the waves...
And swim when it is calm...
We are watching the weather everyday to make sure we get all our "beach" time in before the weather gets cold.

Riding Pepsi

We always love a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's. Taylor ate fresh peas from the garden. She told her daddy she wanted to ride Pepsi, grandma's horse.
She had a carrot while she waited for grandpa to saddle up...and played with the orange kitty...
She is very brave. She is patting Pepsi...
Here she gives me a little wave...
Grandma and grandpa made sure she knew how to hold the reigns properly...
She had a great time, having grandpa lead her around the corral.
After her ride, she thanked Pepsi. I think she is patting Pepsi and her daddy...
Well, he is a nice daddy and he must have a soft head too...

Fun in the Kitchen

Taylor loves to help in the kitchen. She confidently scoots her step stool up to the counter to help with whatever I will allow.
When she is not helping with the cooking, she likes to take her little friends for a spin on the lazy susan. It is fun to open the cupboard door and find Mickey Mouse. This is a current favorite...her little friend "Karen." She named this toy Karen because it has blond hair like Frosty the Snowman's friend Karen, which is a favorite DVD.

Shopping with Friends

We do love a trip to Costco...but shopping with friends can be more fun!

Taylor's First Dental Appointment (8-4-09)

I took Taylor for her first dental appointment, which I thought would consist of acquainting her with the office and taking a look at her teeth. She actually had her little teeth cleaned. She was so brave and seemed to actually enjoy the entire visit. She walked in and said, "Hi, I'm Taylor." A good start!
She wore a little headset and was able to watch a cartoon from a TV implanted into the ceiling. The only thing she did not like so much was the "little vacuum" used to suck the water out of her mouth. But, she did follow directions well and bravely tolerated the little vacuum kisses. She proudly showed me her teeth after her cleaning.
After her cleaning the dentist (Dr. Dance) came in and looked at all her teeth and painted them with fluoride. She received a new tooth brush, floss, a certificate for a free meal at Red Robin, and coins to put into a slot to pick a prize.
She had a great time! I was so proud of her. Look at the waiting room, complete with a train table, and slide. The doorway goes to an area to play video games and stairs to climb to a landing with more toys, like blocks and legos, leading to the slide which brings her back to the waiting room. I think Taylor will enjoy her future visits to the dentist.

Art on the Green (7-31-09)

Ben was working, so Taylor and I went downtown to Art on the Green. I let Taylor paint, which she loved. The people in charge kept coming by and commenting on how much she was concentrating.
She enjoyed this so much, that I now am looking for an easel.
After painting, we played with clay. All I wanted was to roll out some clay and try to get a nice hand print from Taylor, but she would not cooperate. She was too busy with her own creations.

Happy Anniversary...11 years of Us

Happy 11th Anniversary to Us!
I decided to scan some of our wedding pictures into my computer...
I love this one of Ben helping Matt get ready for the wedding...
Right before Matt and I walked out, he said to me, "I'm so proud of you...you are so pretty." That's when I thought I would cry...
Ben has two cousins who are close in age to Matt. This is one of the last pictures of Matt dressed. He quickly changed so he could go play in the forest...I'm glad he enjoyed the wedding too...
My wedding was everything I wanted it to be...I just wish I had more pictures...
For our 11th anniversary weekend, we went camping and did some huckleberry picking. Me and Taylor are trying to pose for a picture with "Sausage" the butterfly...
We see Sausage every now and again...he's a good butterfly...
It was so much fun! Taylor loves huckleberries...
We found quite a few. We picked a lot, since Taylor is such a fan...
She was good at picking them, but I don't think she actually added any to her bag...
We would hike up and park her in front of a bush holding her little bag, while Ben and I picked the berries...
She was proud of this big pine cone she found... It was a beautiful weekend! I have been making lots of huckleberry "pani-cakes"...as Taylor calls them.
