Snow at Kyler's, February 26, 2012

Kyler is so sweet!  He said he would shovel the snow so he and Taylor could jump on the trampoline.  Cute how they are both eating the snow.
We did have a lot of snow and there is always more at Kyler's house.
I love how the sun is shining through a little bit.  That's one of my favorite things, the pretty white snow with blue skies and sunshine.
Taylor and Kyler always have so much fun and Kyler's backyard always looks good in pictures!

Uh oh...Taylor lost her boot, hiking back to the house.

A Nice GOOD Snow, January 20, 2012

Finally, we had a nice good snow!! Fresh enough to really enjoy, and eat, if that's what you like to do. While I was out shoveling the driveway, Taylor shoveled a little, then played a lot.
I got down my first sled for Taylor to play with. A saucer from back in 1973 (maybe, I'm not sure if that's the actual year). As I was piling up a nice mound from our driveway, Taylor was trying to slide down it.
This was worked okay for awhile, but it was a little hill.
However, she was having a lot of fun, and well bundled.
She is actually praying and thanking God for all our snow.
She is such a sweet heart!!
Once I finished with all the shoveling I told her we would hike over to the golf course and see about some better sledding.
It's an amazing view! One of the reasons we bought our first home here. When we first moved in, I would go cross country skiing on the golf course.
There are some pretty big hills, but I didn't want to send Taylor down one of those.
We found a couple of nice hills for her to sled down and we did that repeatedly...
Until it started getting dark. We walked home in the dark and I was really wishing I had a little rope tied to that sled so I could pull her home, because she was pretty tired. It was so much fun!! We were so thankful for the snow.
The little saucer would turn a bit (sometimes) as she was heading down the hill, which she didn't like too much, but she still had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, the snow didn't last. We did get a new sled, not shaped like a saucer, which will be lots of fun the next time we get enough snow to really play in, we look forward to that, next Winter.

Mid-November Snow

It's always fun to stay at grandma's and play with cousins. Blake shoveled out the stairs for Taylor. It just looks like a winter wonderland out at the Enns'.
My little puffy, pink bundle, playing in the snow.
I had Ben get my old sled down, so I could take Taylor out for fun. First, I pulled her down the driveway several times.
For Christmas in 1980, my Uncle Steve bought my brother and me a red flexible flyer sled. We would walk over to Boyd Avenue, which would be blocked off, and sled for hours. The next year, my dad bought me a slightly longer sled, but still the red flexible flyer. They are in great shape, and hold so many fun memories.
Taylor insisted she could pull me on the sled...
As long as I pushed with my arms she could pull me a little bit. I ran up and down the street in front of my house pulling her on the sled. Then I thought we would go even further. So, I kept running. I was actually surprised at how far I was able to run, pulling her on the sled. She thought it was great!! She would wave at the neighbors, who were out shoveling their driveways, saying, "woo hoo, I love sledding...faster mom, run faster." There really wasn't a "faster."
We went over to the path to the golf course and I pulled her along that until the snow got to deep for our little red sled. We saw some other kids out sledding on one of the hills, but not on a sled like we have. I will take her over to my grandma's house to show her how much fun this sled really is, if we get anymore snow. It was so much fun taking Taylor out on my old sled!! Cold, but fun!

Some Favorite Snow Days

I really miss snow. I love the days when the sun is shining and the skies are blue and there is a thick blanket of snow. My house looks like it has a coat of frosting swirled on the roof.
I love the ice cycles and the whipped snow...
I love how the snow sparkles like diamonds when the sun shines on it. I always love to see all the houses and yards covered in snow. All the yards are beautiful covered in snow...
This is the view from my deck, off of my dining room, looking across to hole 17...it's somewhere over there...
The view from my room at sunset...
Ahhh....more snow...
On New Years Day we went to Ben's parents for a party. Taylor pulled herself right up to a nice dish of pickles...
Later we went for a walk.
Taylor was mad. If you look closely at the picture below, or make it bigger by clicking on it, you can really see her little "mad" face. She wanted to walk with her grandma and she only had me for the moment.
She did not want me to take her picture...
She ran away from me, so I couldn't get a picture of her cute little face...
Later, she got over it. I pulled out my cross country skis for the first time in probably 10 years. It was a beautiful day for it.
I didn't realize there was a track for this in the field, so I kept going back and forth along the road, trying to get the hang of it again. The views were so pretty.
Ben's parent's house is over there, beyond the red building, in the trees...
I didn't go down any little hills. I was too afraid...and the roads were a little slick...
Ben came out to check on me...
I was out for less than an hour, but long enough to watch the sky change into some wonderful colors.
I love the snow covered roads...

It was amazing for me...I love being out in the snow, listening to the quiet and just enjoying the views.
Back at Ben's parent's house...
I love where Ben's mom put this picture of Taylor....too perfect.
As we were heading out, I got a picture of Taylor by one of the outside decorated trees.
Taylor absolutely loves to visit her grandparents. I do to. They live in a very beautiful place and the company is always wonderful.
Taylor saying goodbye to her grandma and grandpa...
Another wonderful family party.
