My Birthday!

A day with great friends! And Spa Day at the creek!
Well, it started, like it often does, with some girls posing for a picture...Daniell, me and Taylor...
The guys went to set up their man camp for hunting. The girls later rode the 4-wheelers to their camp with lunch.
Me and Taylor ride together, of course! It really is a lot of fun and it was a beautiful day...
Me, Lisa, Daniell, Cris, Cassie and Taeva...
Ben was excited to have the tasty lunch I brought him...
They were done with camp set up by the time we got there. We don't get up too early...Daniell, Ricky, Pat, Ben and Taylor...
And that sweet little Daniell made jello...
Pictures with jello, marking the great birthday...
After lunch we went on a nice 4-wheeler ride...and stopped to play in the water a little along the way...
Here's that guy I still love, love, love, which is saying a lot since I'm writing this towards the end of his two week hunting vacation...
My sweet Taylor enjoying some wonderful cheese puffs...who doesn't love a good cheese puff? Taylor loves them...
The story behind the cake...one evening on a girls 4-wheeler ride...Crystal and Daniell were laying in the grass. I think it was because Crystal tripped, but I don't know for sure. This turned into a photo opportunity, of course. I said to Lisa, "I would never lay in that grass," to which she replied, "then you're doing it." So, this is me with my sippy cup of wine, laying in the grass. Good Memories!!
I'm not smiling in the cake, because laying in the grass really isn't my thing, but I do love our girls only 4-wheeler rides. They are always so much fun! And, I did love the cake. My friends are wonderful!!
Ricky played his guitar around the camp fire...which always mean we will have some sing alongs...whether he likes it or not :) I had a wonderful birthday with wonderful friends and this is the best one of all...

My Birthday Dinner at Shogun...7-15-10

I was so excited that I had a "going out" birthday dinner. My cousin Ricky made reservations for us to go to one of their (he and Daniell's) favorite places, Shogun. Matt showed up with flowers for his mom. He's so awesome!
Stephen was working in our town, and staying with us, so he came along as well. We always love it when Stephen comes to our town! So, it was Stephen, Matt, Me, Taylor, Ben, Ricky and Daniell.
Taylor did pretty good with her chopsticks. Here is Ricky and Daniell...
And Taylor and her mommy. This is such a fun restaurant!
The food was very good too. I actually can't wait to go back...
Daniell and I with our little shots of Patron...nice Daniell! This was her idea :)
Ben, Ricky and Matt and their sake bombs. I was so proud that my sweet son could do this best. Nice Matt!
And someone paid for the "birthday special" which consisted of this...
The picture was put up on the WALL behind the waterfall. It's not one of our best pictures, but Ben sure looks happy, which means he was being a trooper for his wife's birthday celebration. This is not a look he would normally sport. It was a GREAT birthday dinner with some of my favorite people. I had a wonderful time!

At the Mall...7-14-10

I'm not sure why Taylor and I were at the mall, but when we go there, she really likes it if I take her upstairs to the play area. I just love how cute she is in her little shorts and ponytails!

Play Group Field Trip to Tomato Street...7-14-10

Helping Taylor draw her name and a picture on the table before our tour began.
Lorinda is like my little partner in crime, as we gallivant all over town, entertaining our little ladies. We do take a lot of pictures. Taylor sees her mom and knows to smile. I love this picture of Lorinda, giving me a little pose, as I take a picture of the play group on our tour of Tomato Street.
Tomato Street put on a great little tour! They let a couple of children help to make pizza and provided pizza and spaghetti for all the kids.
They also cover the tables in paper. It's great fun to draw on the table...
The kids had a great time!

Another birthday week Adventure...

Anissa, Makenna and Taylor on Tubbs Hill. This picture should really come later in this story, but I'm not sure how to move it.
Taylor and I got up early one morning, because I needed to renew my drivers' license. Afterwards, we got a mocha, at my favorite mocha place...Java on Sherman. We then went for a walk around the boardwalk. It was a little bit breezy, but very pretty!
Later we went on a walk around Tubbs Hill. My cousin Lorinda said she had done it before and would be taking her stroller. About half way around, she informed me that was as far as she had ever gone. Hilarious Lorinda! The rest of the trail was NOT so stroller friendly. However, we did manage to get around the entire trail. People were shocked to see us with our strollers, and Lorinda has a double. We did have to carry strollers and children. It had to have been a good little workout. I would NOT recommend a stroller on this trail... It was a pretty little hike...
Melissa and Lorinda with Makenna in the stroller...
Good thing we waited for Melissa before we took this hike. We definitely needed a third adult with us to help carry strollers up and over rocks.
Here is a view of the boardwalk that Taylor and I walked earlier in the morning. It's the one furthest away around the covered boat docks...
We do live in a pretty place! I'm glad we take advantage and go out and walk around to enjoy it with our little adventures. Great memories!!
At the end of the trail, Taylor got to sit on Mudgy the Moose for a photo op.

How I started my birthday week...

This is from a photo shoot in LA before Beverly Hills 90210. I think the off the shoulder sweaters and shirts are back "in" this season...21 years later.

When this year started, I knew, of course, that I would be entering another decade. The dreaded birthday that I did not want to talk about. This is the year my husband thinks I'm too old to have more babies, but that I look WAY better than I did last year. That's sweet Ben...ha ha. Realizing that I am just getting older, and there is not anything I can do about it. Since I cannot do anything about getting older, I decided I must get thinner. I'm still working on it, but I have lost 23lbs.

Anyway...back to my birthday week. My cousin Cindy, who has always been like the big sister I never had, always remembers my birthday and I love spending time with her...here we are over the years...July 1993... My 2nd Birthday in 1972...not nearly as traumatic...with my cousins Danny, Cindy, and Vince...
This is at our grandma Peak's house, in the chair where she rocked many grandchildren...Cindy, me and Claudia...1975...
Me and Cindy peeking around the shower curtain at grandma Peak's...this is a photo we re-created a few times by just putting on shower caps and peeking around the curtain...
And, this is how I started my birthday week, having dinner with my Cindy at Dockside...
So many memories! She did insist upon buying me "gag" birthday gifts so I would not forget how old I am this year (not always nice...ha ha). However, I will always love my Cindy!

A 1st birthday for Madelyn Rose...7-10-10

Getting ready to head over to Brandon and Holly's house for Madelyn's birthday party.
Brandon operated the bubble machine. What little girl doesn't love bubbles?
Another thing Taylor always loves to do is feed the little goats. She loves to see all the animals.
She would make silly faces to make Madelyn laugh...
She was thrilled to get a balloon...
Then we watched Madelyn open presents...
Taylor picked this little bear out for Madelyn's birthday. She was very pleased that Madelyn shared, because she loved that little bear.
